The other night I watched this movie called “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” on Netflix watch instant. Essentially, it’s about a guy who is overweight and has a skin disease in which he breaks out in rashes all over his body for no apparent reason. So the guy decides to go on a 60 day juice fast. Juicing is great because you are getting massive quantities of micronutrients in an easily absorbable way. Honestly, the guy was technically “overweight” but he really just had a big gut. He didn’t look to bad otherwise. Anyway, in the first 10 days, he dropped something like 26 pounds! And after the full 60, he lost 90 something pounds, looked like a friggin male model and inspired a whole slew of people to try juicing. Oh, AND he cured his disease!
The body is a powerful mechanism that knows how to heal itself from the inside out with the right conditions. I got to thinking…I have a health issue that I won’t go into too much detail about, but it has to do with my body temperature and sweating and possibly some underlying anxiety. Anyway, I’ve been dealing with it since I was 16. Doctors have never been able to help me with it, but maybe my body will know what to do if it’s given the right conditions? If I REBOOT my system? I don’t know but I’m thinking it’s worth a try? I’m not talking about a 60 day cleanse. WHOA. First of all, I don’t have 90 pounds to lose. At least I don’t think I do. I just want to feel good! I want more energy, and I wouldn’t mind if my body could regulate its temperature a little better.
The website for the movie/movement has a community and plans to get you started for 10-15 days. So, I think I can manage for something like 10 days. Even if I only make it 7, I think it will make a world of difference. I’m coming up on a really BIG and busy year in September. I will be in 4 classes on top of working 20 hours a week at my practicum and I want to start the year off right, with energy and light.
So towards the end of August, I’m going to do it. I might even buy a scale to keep track of what’s happening to my body. I’ve never owned a scale! This will be big!
If you have any interest in going on this journey with me and being each other’s support, please e-mail me at rachelgab81@gmail.com and we will sort out the details!
