What a whirlwind!
I thought I was going to be bored this summer! I wasn’t. I have been busy! With good things. In fact, I maybe haven’t even had enough “me” time because I’ve been accepting almost every invitation to eat out, see movies, go on day trips, whatever. I’ve been doing it all.
During the last week of July, I went to Mexico for a friends wedding and look! I paid $25 to hold a baby lion!

When I got back from that trip I immediately had to start thinking about my next one. A road trip to Idaho for a camping and yoga retreat. I admit that I didn’t do much yoga. I swam in a beautiful lake and enjoyed the scenery.

My favorite part was actually the drive home. My friend Justine and I took the long way on highway 2, passing through creepy, sleepy little railroad towns and miles and miles of wheat fields. At one point I looked at Justine and said “I’m really not sure we’re ever going to get out of here!” It was all the eye could see for about 80+ miles.

Since I’ve been back from that trip I’ve been busy planning some birthday stuff and trying to get my apartment organized and school-ready. Trying to mentally gear up for a juice-fast before school so I can reboot my system and re-energize.
One of my birthday presents from my sister was a trip to see a vedic astrologer! It was SO COOL and I think everyone should do it at least once in your life. This woman knew so much about me by reading my chart. It was nice to hear that it seems the stars really are aligning and I am on the right path, doing the right things. She said that I have been through a lot of struggle. I have. But that I have a lot of luck on my side and that I am always protected and will continue to be protected until I’m at least 37, which makes me feel a lot more confident going into this next year of grad school.
So now, I just take a deep breath and try to enjoy this last little bit of freedom before I enter a new decade and re-enter the craziness of school.
