Don't Dream it, Be it!

In the fall I start my first year of practicum in which I will be doing therapy with college students at a university. I have no idea how to dress!

I have problems with the word “professional” because to me that means boring and conforming. But, yes, I realize I shouldn’t be all hanging out or anything. In my mind I just want to look put together, but I don’t know what that means. I want some individuality in my appearance because I think it’s important for clients to see that you can be who you are, no matter what. That said, who am I? And I don’t want to look too dressy or like I’m trying too hard because this is a university. It’s somewhat casual. 

So, here’s my question. How do you envision your therapist looking?
